From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity. - This role involves picking up donated bread from local collection points to help with our free pantry for the community. It may also involve some bagging and tagging of bread. The Driver (C Class) provides efficient, safe, reliable, and courteous collection and delivery of all goods involved in operations of service. Key responsibilities: Driving: Bringing a high level of driving capability, friendly professionalism and reliability to collecting goods. Vehicle care: Drivers are key in ensuring the vehicle is safe and fully operational by regularly checking tyres, fuel levels and monitoring oil and water levels. Diligently ensure vehicle is checked before each shift and rectify any issues before collecting donations, reporting issues and repairs to manager Administration: Limited to filling in the vehicle log book and ensuring an identification badge is worn at all times, as well communications with manager regarding any concerns that may arise. Goods handling: Unload donated goods and store as required. Qualifications and skills (desired/required): Current C Class driver’s licence applicable to vehicle type Good communication skills Customer service experience highly regarded Background check requirements: Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. Where an applicant has disclosable history, the selection process includes a fair assessment and a risk management approach. Collection of personal information is handled per our privacy and confidentiality policies. Below is what is required for this role: As this role could come into contact with minors, it requires a Working with Children Check/Working with Vulnerable People Check As this role involves dealing with confidential information and entering sites, it requires a Police Check Time Required & Commitment: As agreed with manager Development opportunities with this role: This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills working as part of a large team, and build experience in delivery and logistic activity.
