Saint Stephen’s College is currently seeking casual bus drivers to join our team. The successful applicant will be committed to providing a safe and reliable service to students and the wider community with the ability to operate multiple types of buses, including 39-seater buses, 25-seater buses and 21-seater buses. As the role is a casual position, the hours worked can be flexible, within the normal school runs of 6:15am to 8:15am and 2:45pm to 4:45pm Monday to Friday. Details: Casual, flexible roster. Commencing in January/February 2025 Previous experience as a school bus driver or tour bus driver will be advantageous Closing date for applications – close of business Tuesday 21 January 2025. The College reserves the right to shortlist and appoint prior to closing date. An extension to the closing date may also be applied, at the College’s discretion. Duties include but are not limited to: Safe transport of school children to and from school Carry out checks as defined in the Daily Inspection Report and report defects Maintain a clean and tidy bus; Attend team meetings and required training Training The successful applicant will be provided with great training and ongoing support. Depending on the demands of the College, there could be additional opportunities for increased work hours for excursions and other extra-curricular activities, which training will be provided for. Essential Criteria Clear driving history Good communication and interpersonal skills Blue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Start law’, as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid training) Current Queensland manual Medium Rigid Drivers License or higher Current Driver Authorisation from Queensland Transport Mandatory Clearances/Certifications Blue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Start law’, as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 / QCT Registration First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid training) Protecting our Children All children have a right to be safe and protected from harm and neglect.
