The role: We are looking for experienced individuals to deliver high quality support services to people living with disability in the Canberra Region. We are looking for people who are adaptable, flexible and available to work with our varied clients across Canberra. We have multiple roles available, with onboarding to take place quickly. Capability typically supports people with quite complex requirements, so your adaptability and being able to think on your feet is a must. We are seeking people to support a highly intelligent person who can present with complex behaviours of concern in Gungahlin area, Canberra. Due to the requirements of this participant, we can only recruit female professionals to work with her. The benefits: In addition to working for a cutting-edge, innovative and supportive team, you will receive: Competitive pay-rates Ongoing certified training and development Employee Assistance Program Professional and career development Options for consistent shifts with clients The responsibilities: Assist clients with activities of daily living activities such as personal care, budgeting and managing their home; Provide emotional regulation and act within behaviour support and support plans Supporting clients to be an active member of the Canberra community, accessing the community regularly and positively Supporting clients to undertake domestic and household duties Assisting to develop, design and feedback on support plans designed by Capability Support Participating in Team Meetings, supervision sessions and catch-ups with the Capability Management team Administer medication and monitor health conditions Assist with meal preparation and household tasks Develop and implement individualised care plans Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients Maintain accurate records and documentation The requirements: Current First aid and CPR Police Check (Or willing to undertake one) Experience working with individuals with disabilities Working with Vulnerable People Card Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support (Preferred) Access to a insured and reliable vehicle Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy It is desired that you also outline your ongoing availability, to ensure that we are able to accurately meet the ongoing needs of our clients.
