We are seeking Disability Support Workers in Mulgrave, Victoria. Our customer is a male in his late 20’s, living at home with his family, who is non-verbal with CP, Autism, and OCD. He and his family are looking for confident support workers with experience in redirection techniques. Shifts from Monday to Friday and occasional weekends, between 7am and 3pm. Desirable: – Proven or lived experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role – Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, a related field, or the ability to obtain – Manual handling training – Knowledge and understanding of disability support principles, policies, and practices – Worker Orientation Module – New Worker NDIS Induction Module – Supporting Effective Communication – Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals Our organisation values its employees and is committed to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: – Providing hands-on support and care to individuals with physical and neurological disabilities. – Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks. – Promoting independence and facilitating community participation. – Following personalised care plans to meet the unique needs of each individual. – Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support. – Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided and reporting any changes in individual’s needs. – Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to guarantee a safe working environment for yourself and the people we support. You must have or have the ability to obtain: – First Aid and CPR certification. – NDIS Worker Screening Check – Police Check – Working with Children’s Check You must have: – The ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disability, their families, and other stakeholders such as OT’s, Physio’s etc. – Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive and professional relationships with the people we support. – The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. – Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in challenging situations. – Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
