Sports Administrator (Gold Coast) – Make a Difference with SLSQ Are you an organized and enthusiastic individual with a passion for sports? Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sports Administrator to join our Surf Sports team As the Sports Administrator, you will have a front-row seat to some of Queensland’s most exciting surf sports events This role is based at our Burleigh office on the Gold Coast. What You’ll Do: Administrative Support: the go-to person for providing secretarial support to the Surf Sports Manager and other team members. You’ll keep things running smoothly by managing schedules, preparing documents, and coordinating communications. Record Keeping & Communication: You’ll maintain and update databases, ensuring accurate information on officials and event details. You’ll also manage the distribution of circulars, memos, and bulletins to keep everyone informed. Event Planning & Coordination: from pre-event to post-event, you’ll ensure everything is organized and on track for all our sport events. You’ll coordinate entries, official’s appointments, travel, accommodation, and more Incident Reporting: manage the Incident Report Database for SLSQ-run sport events, ensuring all incidents are tracked and documented. Officials Development: manage the state-wide Queensland Official Accreditation process and help coordinate mentoring programs for officials, ensuring they have the support and resources they need. Live Heats Support: play an important role in organizing and supporting the use of Live Heats at SLSQ events, ensuring everything runs smoothly during competitions. Resource Management: maintain a resource library to assist officials, providing them with necessary tools, information on clinics, and support material. Who We’re Looking For: Essential: A Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one). 2 years of administration experience. High competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Available to attend Surf Sport carnivals on weekends and the occasional Surf Sports Committee meetings. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Event management experience or a willingness to learn quickly. A problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Highly Desirable: Knowledge of meeting structures. Tertiary qualifications in sports administration or related field.
