We would love the opportunity to work with YOU Requirements About the Role We are seeking a Data Engineer to play a key role in the migration of our client's reporting platform, focusing on back-end systems and data infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless data integration, optimizing large-scale data processing, and building robust, scalable data pipelines to support various applications across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop high-performance data systems that empower business users with actionable insights. You will drive innovation in data engineering processes, optimize workflows, and maintain data integrity throughout the platform migration. Key Responsibilities Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and design efficient data solutions for integration across multiple applications. Semantic Model & KPI Definitions: Develop and maintain a structured semantic model, ensuring KPIs align with business objectives and reporting requirements. Platform Migration: Support back-end migration efforts by ensuring data pipelines, storage solutions, and processing systems transition smoothly without business disruptions. Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery for business intelligence tools. System Optimization: Continuously monitor and enhance back-end systems, databases, and workflows for high performance and cost efficiency. Data Integration: Ensure seamless integration of structured and unstructured data from various sources into centralized platforms for comprehensive analysis and reporting. Required Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience: 3 years in data engineering or a similar role, with hands-on experience in data transformation and migration projects. Strong background in migrating data from legacy systems to modern BI platforms, such as Power BI (preferred). Technical Skills: Data Transformation: Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and reporting within the Microsoft ecosystem (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric). Power BI & Semantic Models: Experience in developing analytical data models in Power BI and/or Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) , including KPI definitions and metric standardization. SQL & DAX: Proficiency in SQL (any dialect) for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis, as well as DAX for Power BI/Analysis Services. Data Pipelines: Experience designing and optimizing data pipelines for large-scale data processing. Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure Synapse Analytics .
