You'll be working on creating an innovative greenfield application to benefit the mental and physical health and well-beings of thousands of people across Australia. The team innovates and moves quickly, and will be looking to you to create an environment to operate between customers, product and engineering to build this high-quality application. As a Principal Engineer , you will be a critical piece of this puzzle by utlising your strong ability to communicate and influence other stakeholders during the SDLC. You will also be developing software in a true full-stack role where you will have touch points across front end, back end and building on top of AWS Cloud infrastructure. This application will deploy across web and mobile and you will work very closely with a Lead Mobile engineer to bring to life this application. Think of the role as being a founding engineer for this team. Part of the future responsibilities will be to help build out a small team to assist in building and crafting this application. Tech stack: Front End React/JavaScript with Node, are the key tech. Also, experience with building applications on AWS Key aspects of the role include using your experience and expertise to communicate and influence stakeholders, being hands-on technically, and implementing best practices to develop excellent software and systems. Use these skills to provide technical guidance to key stakeholders about the development and delivery of this innovative application Demonstrate a level of commercial and business acumen to have a holistic view on how the software and systems integrate and are built and how they impact the end user/customers Build out your team in the future and be involved in hiring core members Continue a working relationship with 3rd party vendors and partners to implement an existing code base and make it your own Hands-on technical development is part of your day to day, you will lead by example of best practices and act as a lighthouse for delivering quality end to end software and systems You will use your knowledge to understand and navigate the architecture of products and work hand in hand with Head of Product and Other key stakeholders to deliver this greenfield application This role is a combination of solution architecture, leadership and engineering. You are essentially the heart and brains behind the development of this application. It's a full-time permanent position based in Melbourne, its a truly hybrid working environment with no mandated days in the office, but the team makes a conscious effort to be in there two days a week.
