Description Learning, Teaching & Curriculum Permanent/Continuing, full-time appointment Level 6/7: $91,087 - $112,790 superannuation The Learning, Teaching & Curriculum (LTC) division sits within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Student Life) portfolio at the University of Wollongong. Working in flexible, responsive multidisciplinary teams, LTC works in partnership with stakeholders to drive innovation and sector-leading practice in learning and teaching for the benefit of our students, and to secure UOW’s position at the forefront of higher education excellence. The Educational Design team within LTC currently has an opportunity for a full time, ongoing Educational Designer based at the Wollongong campus. About the role This role is focused on the design and development of technology enriched curricula and implementation of digital pedagogies into the curriculum. This Educational Designer supports and engages with curriculum (subjects and courses) design, content and assessment development, and enhancement, evaluation and sharing of good practice in learning and teaching. Essential Selection Criteria: A degree in Education, Instructional Design or an area relevant to teaching and learning; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education/training deemed to be equivalent. Strong learning design knowledge and a well-developed understanding of educational theories, models and principles, and approaches to pedagogy and research that inform best practice in learning, teaching and assessment. Demonstrated authoring skills and experience working with educational platforms (especially Moodle) and digital technologies to design robust and inclusive learning and teaching practices across a range of educational contexts and disciplines. Extensive experience designing engaging learning environments and experiences (e.g., within modules, subjects, courses, degrees) across a range of delivery modes (e.g., online, blended and hybrid). Demonstrated experience in reviewing, designing, delivering, and evaluating training and/or staff professional development and associated resources in the higher education sector (e.g., workshops, modules, programs, subjects, courses, events). High-level organisational, time and project management skills, including the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility, agility, and collaboration in successfully planning, leading, implementing and directing/redirecting projects/initiatives. High level communication skills, and the ability to: develop and maintain good working relationships with others and collaborate effectively in team environments. Demonstrated knowledge of sector-wide and discipline-specific education trends and emerging learning and teaching challenges and innovations (including awareness of opportunities for new technologies e.g., generative artificial intelligence). Desirable Selection Criteria: Experience teaching in the tertiary education sector (adult education). Demonstrated contribution to Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
