Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation. This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of people with disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive equipment. Support clients in performing daily household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry. Facilitate community engagement by accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and recreational outings. Administer medication in accordance with care plans and relevant guidelines. Monitor and document client progress, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals. Implement individualized care plans and work collaboratively with healthcare providers, families, and support networks. Promote independence and skill development in accordance with the client's needs and goals. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards. Provide emotional and psychosocial support to clients and their families. Skills and Experience Required: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a disability support or aged care role. Strong understanding of NDIS and person-centered care principles. Current First Aid and CPR certification. National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). Valid Australian Driver’s License Preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
