Role Summary We are seeking a motivated professional to drive business growth in the fisheries sector across Australia and the South Pacific. This role combines sales, technical expertise, and client engagement within a fisheries monitoring, conservation, and surveillance environment. Responsibilities include managing client relationships, responding to enquiries, coordinating sales and marketing efforts, and providing first-level technical support when required. The position involves both domestic and international travel. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering, business, marine science, GIS, or a related field, with strong communication skills and a proactive, goal-oriented approach. Training will be provided at the company’s Melbourne office and potentially at international locations. Key Responsibilities • Develop and expand the fisheries market in Australia and the South Pacific region. • Respond to enquiries from existing and potential clients. • Drive sales and marketing initiatives, including attending exhibitions, conferences, and workshops. • Liaise with regional fisheries management organisations, local resellers, distributors, and certified installers. • Provide first-level technical support when necessary. • Undergo training on company products and services, with potential international training opportunities. • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support business development and client engagement. • Contribute to fisheries monitoring, conservation, management, and surveillance initiatives. Qualifications and Experience Qualifications – Trade or degree qualifications in Engineering, Business, Marine Science, GIS, or a related discipline. Sales & Business Development – Experience in sales, marketing, or business development, ideally within the maritime, fisheries, or environmental sectors. Technical Proficiency – Strong understanding of technical products and services, with the ability to provide first-level support. Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and technical writing. Industry Knowledge – Familiarity with fisheries monitoring, conservation, management, or surveillance is advantageous. Technology & Software – Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Office 365.
