About the role: We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Casual Chef de Partie to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is team focused, passionate about food and being creative; a person who enjoys being part of a team and a mentor to our junior members, whilst meticulously preparing delicious food for our members and guests. Our kitchen is a busy operation from breakfast, through until dinner. Our Head Chef has some up-and-coming projects in the pipeline, with changes to the breakfast, Cafe and food offerings, and working on a new kitchen design with our new Senior Sous Chef. This means more support is needed in the kitchen to ensure a smooth service flow. This role is currently being offered on a casual basis. Main duties (what you will be doing) • Provide support to the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, along with fellow kitchen team members. • Daily food preparation, ensuring maximum quality and profitability. • Facilitation of stock rotation to minimise food waste. • Build relationships with the Catering Services Manager, Supervisors and Front of House team members to ensure consistent flow of communication, and quality service to members and guests. • Ensure the provision of service within the kitchen is courteous, friendly, efficient and customer focused at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced. • Ensure the quality and consistency of the food served is to the highest standard and meets our customer's expectations. • Support a positive team culture. • Support the Head Chef with new menu items. • Supervise, train, motivate, mentor, and assist with the development of apprentices. • Comply with Food Act and Food Handling guidelines. • Competent to work in all areas, including breakfast, pans, fryers, grill, larder (and as directed by the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef). What do we need from you? • At least 3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie in a high-volume kitchen. • You are dependable and trustworthy, and committed to your role. • Excellent personal presentation standards and grooming, along with an elevated level of self-motivation. • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and thrive on working as part of a team, in a demanding environment. • Display a calm disposition working under pressure. • An excellent communicator; organised and have perfected the art of time management. • NSW Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing). • Knowledge of NSW Food Safety and hygiene regulations and the ability to train and enforce these standards. • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred - Certificate III Commercial Cookery as a minimum). • RSA - NSW Competency Card (highly desirable). • The ability to support and work with the Head Chef within the confines of a budget. • You will need to be available from kitchen open until kitchen close of trade, (inclusive of mornings, afternoons, and evenings), preferably across 7 days of the week, including ALL public holidays due to the rotation of the roster and business requirements. • You can show that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 - we maintain this as part of our Board approved Club Policy. • You must have full Australian legal working rights - Sponsorship is NOT available. • You will need to be physically fit, be able to stand for long periods (at times) and manoeuvre some heavy items (from time to time).
