This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, working closely with the rest of the Systems team. This includes managing servers, applications, networks, and storage systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. A key responsibility of this role is to visit Court and assist in securely transporting documents from Court to Hall & Wilcox systems. The Systems Engineer must strictly adhere to the firm’s portable device policies to ensure the security and integrity of all transported data. This role will require the successful candidate to be in the office 5 days a week. There will also be some interstate travel and work required after-hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for: assisting the firm in complying with its ‘Use of Portable Device Policies’ and guidelines for transporting data from courts; collaborating with other IT team members to support and optimize IT operations; designing, deploying, and maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, applications, networks, and storage systems; monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal availability and reliability and serve as the escalation point for the IT Infrastructure’s 24x7x365 external monitoring services; implementing and managing security measures to protect IT infrastructure from threats; developing and maintaining documentation for IT infrastructure, including network diagrams, system configurations, and procedures; planning and executing system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities; automating process using scripting, where appropriate; providing technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff; collaborating closely with the Systems and Helpdesk teams to ensure prompt resolution of issues; staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the IT infrastructure remains current and effective; and assisting with infrastructure projects. About you You will ideally have the following skills and experience: at least 3 years of proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role; a strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers desktops, networks, backup and storage systems; a good understanding of Active Directory, Group policy, Exchange, Office 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune MDM,and Windows Security components (LAPS, Bitlocker and Azure MFA); experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure); proficiency in Windows Desktop (Windows 10 & 11) & Server OS (Windows 2016 and above); strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external providers; and self-motivated and disciplined in the delivery of a high level of client service.
