Position: Learning Support Teacher (Secondary) Contract Type: One-Term Cover Start Date: 7th April 2025 End Date: 13th June 2025 About the School: ISWA is an IB World School that provides an inclusive, challenging, and supportive environment for students to excel academically and personally. As an international school operating on a northern hemisphere academic calendar, we are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team for Term 4 (locally Term 2), from April to June 2025. The Purpose of the Role: The Learning Support Teacher is responsible for supporting students who require inclusive education, across the subject areas for MYP and DP. The role involves working closely with the Student Support Team (SST) to remove barriers to learning and assist classroom teachers in developing the strategies, dispositions, and skills necessary for students to thrive academically. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized or small group support to secondary students. Collaborate with the Student Support Team and classroom teachers to create inclusive learning strategies that address student needs. Monitor and track students' progress, ensuring they receive appropriate support and accommodations. Foster an inclusive classroom culture, promoting self-advocacy and independence in learning. Support the development of strategies to assist students in overcoming academic challenges. Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s inclusive education program. We are looking for an individual who possesses: A Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A strong level of technology experience and competence. The ability to work with tact and discretion, maintaining confidentiality when required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure effective workload management. Proven success working in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and plan effectively with colleagues. A passion for building strong relationships within the ISWA community. It would also be desirable if the individual possesses: Experience in one or more IB programmes. Understanding of Universal Design for Learning. Experience with IEP and testing.
