Your Role: The primary focus of this role is to support switchboard manufacturing by methodically gathering the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring the precise assembly of components in an organised and systematic manner. This includes maintaining accuracy in parts selection, optimising material flow, and upholding quality standards in the build process. The Warehouse Storeworker will play a key role in ensuring that all materials required for switchboard manufacturing are available, correctly staged, and assembled according to specifications. Additionally, in the down time the role is responsible for managing and maintaining optimal inventory levels across the warehouse, ensuring seamless coordination with national warehouses for inventory compliance. The role also involves proficient forklift operation, including unloading shipments, internal movement of materials, and maintaining a clean, secure, and well-organised warehouse environment. Other responsibilities include fulfilling orders, optimising storage layouts, and providing forklift safety training as needed. Switchboard Manufacturing & Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: • Gather and verify the Bill of Materials (BOM) required for switchboard manufacturing, ensuring completeness and accuracy. • Organise and stage components methodically to streamline the switchboard assembly process. • Ensure correct identification, handling, and tracking of parts used in the assembly to maintain quality and efficiency. • Work closely with production teams to anticipate material requirements and prevent shortages or delays. • Maintain precise documentation of materials used and report any discrepancies or missing components. • Implement best practices in material storage and movement to support a lean and efficient manufacturing environment. Forklift Operations: • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to manage incoming shipments, move inventory within the warehouse, and supply materials to production areas. • Conduct routine pre-operation checks on forklifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. • Adhere to strict safety protocols when handling materials, including proper stacking, load securing, and hazard avoidance. Order Fulfillment & Inventory Management: • Accurately pick and pack orders in line with customer specifications and shipping guidelines. • Maintain up-to-date inventory records to accurately reflect all stock movements. •Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory checks to reconcile physical stock with system records, resolving discrepancies promptly. • Identify root causes of inventory variances and contribute to corrective actions for improved accuracy. Warehouse Organisation & Safety: • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and labeling practices. • Optimise warehouse layout and storage configurations to enhance space utilisation and operational efficiency. • Dispose of waste and packaging materials in accordance with recycling and waste management policies. • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing potential hazards and promoting a culture of safety. Training, Compliance & Technology Integration: • Ensure strict compliance with all forklift operation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies related to warehouse operations. • Provide training to team members on forklift safety, order picking techniques, and proper material handling as required. • Operate and maintain warehouse technology systems, including barcode scanners and inventory management software, to enhance operational efficiency. • Stay updated on new technological tools and participate in training sessions to effectively integrate them into daily operations. Team Collaboration: • Collaborate with other departments, including production, logistics, procurement, and construction, to ensure smooth operations and timely communication regarding inventory and material availability. • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimising warehouse and manufacturing processes.
