This role and the Marine department are pivotal to the smooth day-to-day operations of the company. After an initial training period, this role will operate with a fair degree of independence, however, you are surrounded by people who are extremely knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise. As you gain experience, you will be trained in the responsibilities of the Marine Coordinator role. Both positions will provide cross-functional support, ensuring continuity of operations during busy periods, annual leave, or sick leave. Reporting to a highly experienced General Manager and working closely with another Manager, the core function of the Marine department is to ensure the vessels are operational and fully manned 365 days of the year, in line with maritime specifications. To achieve this, the role will involve the following: Key Responsibilities: Document Control - Perform the function of Document Controller for the Safety Management System - accurate, detailed and high-level editing and written English skills are essential for this function to be executed effectively Marine Liaison - Record, manage and act as marine liaison with regard to Seafarer’s medicals, workers compensation claims and return to work programs Vessel Movements - Record/enter vessel movements to and from ports Training Coordination - Organise and coordinate various training programs for Seafarers and other departments by confirming training dates/schedules, coordinating personnel attendance, arranging travel and accommodation Internal Audits - Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards General administration - Provide general administrative support and maintain accurate records across various marine functions Experience and Skills Required: Proven experience in a senior/high level administrative or executive support role or a similar role which involves highly detailed and complex document control/editing Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Word Exceptional written English skills, grammar, spelling and attention to detail are essential A current Australian Drivers License and access to a car For more information about this opportunity or to request a position description, please contact Carolyn Hagan, Senior Recruitment Coordinator at W&Co Search, on 0497 865 092 or Carolyn.haganwcosearch.com Applications should include a one-page cover letter and detailed resume highlighting your aligned skills and experience.
