Description The Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards is the largest annual beer competition in the world judging both draught and packaged beer. Renowned for showcasing the highest quality beer and cider and for celebrating brewing excellence in Australia and around the world, AIBA is open for entry to breweries and cideries of all sizes, from small to large-scale commercial production. Melbourne Royal is now inviting applications from passionate beer industry professionals to fill various roles, including the facilitation of bump in/out of the Awards and pouring of draught exhibits at the judging at Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale. DATES BUMP IN – Monday 22 April – Monday 5 May JUDGING – Tuesday 6 May – Friday 9 May BUMP OUT – Monday 12 May – Friday 23 May Key Duties: Set up back of house area, including unpacking of shipping containers and equipment, setting up workstations, wash glassware and crockery, cleaning of equipment, etc Receipting of entries Set up front of house (judging space) with tables, chairs, etc. Preparing entries to be judged Follow dispensing provided by the Chief Steward and Competition Management Change and flush lines after each entry has been assessed Clean bars after judging Picking and sorting of entries to be judged Wash glassware and crockery Emptying and crushing of packaged product Provide and replenish water and palate cleansers for judges as needed Cleaning of front and back of house areas post judging Pack down equipment from judging, including washing and storing equipment Organise beer for the presentation event Facilitate keg returns Skills And Experiences Fit and able to lift kegs Keg handling experience Pouring/serving draught beer experience Attention to detail Able to follow instruction Be able to stand on feet for long hours
