Working Environment Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale in the Ron Barwick Prison, within the industries unit. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time). Duties Perform a range of administrative functions across various outputs including drafting of correspondence, filing documentation and processing mail. Undertake general reception duties, including telephone reception, booking visits, receipting property, and responding to general enquiries. Undertake financial tasks including initiating requisitions, reconciling received goods, receipting prisoner monies, and processing prisoner requests. Contribute to the development and implementation of work practices and procedures, which maximise efficiency whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification level.
