Your Role Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic applicants for the position of Teacher Assistant to support the needs of students at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Bundaberg. This is a term-time (12hpw) continuing position, commencing as soon as able or as negotiated with the successful applicant. Typical duties include but not limited to: Assist with supporting the needs of students with significant tracheostomy, gastronomy, mobility and toileting needs. This will necessitate training and the ability to fully assist the student in relation to these needs and in case of emergency. Supporting a student who uses Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC – ways of communicating other than talking) in the school setting. Assist student learning, either individually or in groups, under the direct supervision of an academic staff member where limited discretion and judgement are involved Perform within well-established routines tasks associated with the mass production of printed material including collating, stapling, binding, folding, cutting etc Under the direct supervision of a higher-level officer or a member of the academic staff and within well-established routines Prepare and clean away materials for use/display in classrooms Perform tasks of limited complexity associated with classroom learning e.g. preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs Support students in relation to their physical needs Other ad hoc duties as required For more information, please review the Position Description.
