About the role Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. Responsibilities Provide support for clients facing behaviours of concern and complex needs with the ability to remain calm and supportive during unpredictable situations utilising de-escalation techniques Work with clients who require assistance with personal care tasks, such as bathing and dressing, as well as manual handling to ensure safe mobility Work flexibly on a 24/7 roster. Ability to work sleepover is essential Community access and transportation assistance Support client in their day-to-day life by empowering them to find their strengths and build their capacity to live independently Offer opportunities for choice, self-expression, and active involvement across all facets of our daily care services Skills & Experience An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children Checks (where relevant to the role).
