We are looking for exceptional, committed emerging talent who are passionate about digital to reimagine our digital platforms and join our Gold Coast Engineering Hub. Our Digital Banking team innovates and experiments with a wide range of technologies – we design, architect, develop and support solutions for both internal and external customers. What you could get to work on as an Engineer : Web and Native App Development - work on the Westpac’s new Mobile App used by over 2.5mil time a day and touch the lives of so many people Proof of Concept (POC) for new Apps and features, new tools and platforms Artificial Intelligence Cloud Application Development Digital Innovation Labs, experiment with leading technology Reimagining digital platforms Core Responsibilities in the role include: Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional team to deliver world-class, high-quality products for our Westpac Leading Mobile App, Internet Banking and Digital Technologies. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of applications throughout the lifecycle and provide input into the planning of future application. Apply a practical approach to development rather than always reinventing the wheel. Participate in Agile ceremonies. Contribute to thought leadership in leading digital technologies and be a digital advocate to the wider development and engineering community through participation in guilds sharing knowledge and learnings. Relevant IT or business tertiary qualifications e.g., university degree and/or TAFE qualification. An absolute passion for digital technology. Experience as a Developer / Software Engineer Strong innovative thinking with excellent problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with some presentation experience. Enjoy working in a team environment. Want to influence real change and make a positive difference in the lives of Australians – to help them bank, shop, make payments and connect with bankers. Want to challenge the “status quo” by fining innovative ways to achieve great outcomes and advance our digital technology landscape. Keeping up to date with latest trends in technology, bring new ideas and a passion to make them a reality. You have a growth mindset and not afraid of a challenge. You will have knowledge and some experience in: Microservices and MFE (Micro FrontEnd) Data Structures and Algorithms Programming Languages like JavaScript, React, Node JS, Python, Java, SQL, Swift, Kotlin, .Net core and C# etc. Source Control like Git and Bitbucket DevOps CI/CD pipelines Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Databases like SQL, Oracle, Redis etc. Operating System – Linux, Windows, Mac Understanding of Software development life cycle Cloud Platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP Containers – Docker, Kubernetes Event Bus with Kafka Test Automation (Web/Native), AI and UI design (Figma) What’s it like to work there?
