Our client is an established West Australian specialist utilities contractor with an excellent reputation in project delivery in WA with the use of the latest technology, specifically within the water sector. Due to their ongoing growth in WA they have now secured several water utility contracts in Melbourne with local government authorities. Due to this being a semi-autonomous role reporting into Perth based senior management, you must be an experienced high performing Senior or Project Engineer that can demonstrate successful water project delivery coupled with commercial acumen. This role will be suited to someone with current or previous Melbourne Water or similar experience who can demonstrate successful management and delivery of projects while managing and directing fields staff but also have excellent client-facing negotiation skills should it be EOT, variations or just managing your way through red tape and corporate responsibilities with management contractors and clients alike. These projects will cover various aspects of the water sector including, but not limited to, upgrades, pressure mains, new installations, service locating and trenchless technology. With their current workload and tender success, they can offer you ongoing permanent employment, however, with their successful tendering and exceptional track record in the water sector they are confident this will be a long term relationship with ongoing career advancement opportunities as the company grows their eastern state operations. Due to the size and nature of our clients’ projects, candidates with a 2nd or large 3rd tier specialist contracting background would be most suited but must have local water sector experience to be considered. To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following: Tertiary / Degree educated in civil engineering Water project delivery experience for a contractor NOT client side Melbourne based with current utilities experience Tier 2 or large tier 3 experience advantageous Minimum 5 yrs project experience with a recognised contractor Underground utilities / tunnelling / HDD experience advantageous Melbourne metro project experience desirable Excellent man management & client facing skills essential Ability to work on your own initiative Computer literate Only Melbourne based applicants with local water utilities experience and full Australian working rights will be considered.
