About the Role: The Electrical/Electronic Test Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting tests to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical and electronic systems and components. Working in a small lab environment, this individual will leverage a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and testing methodologies to support product development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance processes. Key Responsibilities: Test Plan Development: Design detailed test plans for electrical/electronic components and systems. Test Execution: Conduct hands-on testing using lab equipment, including environmental, durability, and functional tests. Data Analysis and Insights: Analyse test data and prepare detailed reports to share with engineering and management teams. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and investigate electrical/electronic failures or issues, providing actionable recommendations. Quality Assurance: Ensure all components meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Lab Management: Oversee lab operations, including equipment calibration and maintenance. Teamwork & Collaboration: Collaborate with product development teams to integrate test findings into product design. Constant Improvement: Stay updated with the latest testing technologies and propose improvements for lab capabilities. Rework: Perform PCA-related rework for testing and validation purposes. Other Responsibilities: Ensure safe work practices are observed and advise the OS&H coordinator of any hazards or potential hazards. Work in a small, specialized lab environment, which may require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines or troubleshoot urgent issues. Refer to the manufacturer’s Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the safe use of handling dangerous goods. Perform other duties as required by your leader About You: You will possess; Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering/electronics engineering or a related field. Proven experience in electrical/electronic testing, preferably in a test lab environment. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles electronic systems and battery/charger systems. Experience with Altium Designer Software and knowledge of Python test scripts would be a huge advantage Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters and specialised test rigs. Strong written & verbal communication skills coupled with excellent problem solving abilities.
