A technology house supporting a major big four bank is seeking a Senior Wintel Engineer to work on a data centre migration which is on prem to on prem going form Hyper V to VMWare onto 350 new servers. Seeking a skilled engineer that is hands one one with storng knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Domain Crontols and has experience in data centre migrations. You will - Proactively monitor the Wintel & Virtualisation Environment, respond to incidents & requests Build, Manage, Support and upgrade Wintel systems including AD, Exchange, Terminal Services, Networker Backups. Build, Deploy, Manage, Monitor and Support Nutanix, VMWare, Windows Servers and associated Manage incident, changes, and problems through Jira. Ensure regular platform, system, and application upgrades to maintain compliance and security Proactively contribute to enhancements, innovation and automation thereby improving the business value and quality of the IT platform overall. Provide technical expertise for ongoing development and management of the Infrastructure Platform and supporting services, ensuring best practices are followed and maintained. Enhance existing processes and practices through automation. To be suitable you will have at least 5 years’ experience working in a similar role within the IT Service Provider / Mid-Large corporate environment. Proven experience managing and upgrading Active Directory, Exchange Server, RDS Farms. Proven experience managing Microsoft Server patching via SCCM. Proven experience building and deploying Microsoft Servers, leveraging automation for deployment and securing via Group Policy and other mechanisms. Proven experience designing, deploying, managing and supporting on-premises virtualisation infrastructure including Nutanix & VMware with a security focused approach. Proven experience building and configuring physical servers such as Dell, Lenovo We are seeking somone to ideally start next week or week after and a day rate is payable according to experience with potential extensions in the contract through further projects if you are interested.
