About the Role We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with dams-related project experience to join our Geotechnical Team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will have a key role in managing and providing technical input to a wide range of industry and municipal civil infrastructure projects. This role will include project management, technical design, analysis and reporting. Project management, delivery and coordination of projects and proposals. Undertaking geotechnical analysis, concept to detailed designs and technical reporting for water dams, retarding basins, and levees. Undertaking inspection, investigation and condition assessment of existing dams, retarding basins and levees. Undertaking safety reviews for existing dams, retarding basins and levees. Participating in the scoping and undertaking of geotechnical investigations, including field data collection, laboratory test scheduling, interpretation of foundation conditions and characterisation of engineering properties for foundation and construction materials. Developing and reviewing geotechnical investigation documentation including investigation briefs, factual and interpretive geotechnical reports. Ideally experience leading and executing geotechnical field programs, including engineers and drilling contractors. Developing and reviewing design documentation including design reports, technical specifications, drawings, BOQ’s and cost estimates. Providing construction support services including construction supervision, design advice, inspection of works, evaluation of quality control and quality assurance data and construction reporting. About You A tertiary degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) with 5 years’ experience or more. Registered Professional Engineer (or working toward obtaining this qualification). Project experience relating to geotechnical assessment and design of dams, retarding basins, and levees. Experience with project and design management, including supervision of civil design outputs and deliverables. High level of technical skills and experience in report writing, technical review, project management, and the management of junior engineers and civil designers. Experience with scoping, supervising and interpreting geotechnical investigations. Experience and familiarity with GeoStudio modelling software and/or stability, seepage and deformation modelling packages. Experience developing design documentation including design reports, technical specifications, drawings and BOQ’s. Excellent communication skills. Motivated and able to work independently, with support from senior staff and colleagues.
