The role will predominantly be based out of our client’s site near the Melbourne CBD. Wood Life Sciences office in Melbourne services a wide variety of technology intensive sectors including biotechnology & pharmaceuticals, laboratories & research facilities and healthcare. Reporting to the client operational engineering lead as part of the wider Wood team on site, you will share responsibilities for activities related to the plant utilities systems, including operational, maintenance and compliance activities. The utilities systems consist of clean utilities, bulk chemicals, waste treatment, building services including boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC and other mechanical services. What we can offer Meaningful and interesting projects Flexible working arrangements Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Competitive remuneration package Flexible benefits Commitment to continued professional development Global connections Responsibilities The key objectives for this role are: Operate site utilities systems as required for production activities including equipment troubleshooting Review critical spares for systems to support continuous operation of the systems Review maintenance and calibration requirements and update as necessary Coordinate vendor service activities for the routine and no routine activities Process work requests (including permits and isolations) for activities through SAP Plant Maintenance from start to finish Oversee maintenance activities to ensure compliance of the activities to the required timelines Conduct deviation investigations when required for any non-conformances in the systems Actively contributing to value engineering initiatives Lead by example for all activities in relation to Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Provide technical leadership and direction for Utilities Collaborate in cross functional teams to contribute to a high performing culture, with good engagement levels Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the utilities systems and the Engineering function Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent 3 years of post-graduate experience Good understanding of the process, engineering systems and cleanrooms within the Pharmaceutical Industry Experience in project management / project engineering with the ability to lead and deliver a project Well-developed regulatory and compliance code understanding in respect to the manufacturing/production and engineering environment Strong communication skills and consultative approach in working with key stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes You will need to have valid work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
