Title: Senior Data Solution Designer Location: Melbourne or Sydney (hybrid, 40%) Role: 3 Months Daily Contract (with possible extension, TBC) Day Rate: 950.00 gst / day The Role A Senior Data Solution Designer plays a crucial role within the data products team, responsible for delivering reliable and secure data assets that empower teams across Australia / Asia to make informed decisions and enhance customer experiences through data. This role focuses on designing data assets that align with both business and customer needs while supporting the overall data architecture and vision for the data warehouse. Key Focus Areas: This position requires a strong blend of data solution design and business analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex CRM domains, particularly in sales operations and intricate data structures related to contracts, accounts, and orders. While familiarity with Salesforce is beneficial, the primary focus is on understanding business processes and transforming raw data into meaningful insights using SQL and data modeling. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with data users across the organisation to identify and understand their data requirements. Apply product thinking to ensure solutions drive meaningful outcomes for customers and the business. Design and evolve a data warehouse architecture that allows multiple teams to contribute data assets in a structured and interoperable manner. Mentor and support junior DWH Solution Designers, fostering professional development and best practices. Develop data assets, including datamarts, data warehouses, and data feeds for various teams and services. Identify, explore, analyse, and document source data and systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Work closely with data providers to define data collection requirements and maintain data quality standards. Specify ETL processes, including source-to-target mappings, transformations, reconciliation, and validation rules. Partner with Data Engineers to implement data assets, conduct quality assurance checks, and facilitate acceptance testing. Investigate data quality issues and coordinate resolution efforts with data providers. Champion best practices in data warehousing, information management, and data product development. Provide documentation, training, and ongoing support for data users. Essential Skills Strong ability to understand customer needs, capture requirements, and design effective solutions. Strong business analysis understanding Experience in complex CRM environments, ideally within Sales Operations Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Deep expertise in data warehousing, business intelligence, data management, data quality, and ETL processes. Experience supporting business intelligence, analytics, and data science initiatives. Strong skills in data/dimensional modeling, ensuring usability and performance. Proficiency in SQL and data analysis. Desirable Skills Experience applying product thinking to deliver and measure business outcomes. Proven ability to coach and mentor others, fostering skill development. Understanding of web and mobile app development. Experience working in an agile delivery environment as part of a cross-functional team.
