ABOUT OUR DISABILITY SERVICES Our Disability services includes: Residential Care - we provide people with a safe and secure home environment, led by a team of dedicated, and caring staff In home care - our experienced staff assist in the home with domestic duties such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, household chores, assisted exercise and paying bills Community Access - we help clients access the community for education, recreational, and vocational purposes. In various settings of individual supports, group programs, individual day programs, and respite holidays all around Australia. The Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated casual Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration Key Responsibilities: Providing person-centred support and assistance with daily living activities Help clients with mobility and transportation needs Administer medication and monitor health conditions Assist with meal preparation and household tasks Develop and implement individualised care plans Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients Maintain accurate records and documentation such as incidents and progress notes in a timely manner Collaborating with the Service Manager and broader care team to ensure consistent support Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and solution-focused attitude Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Certification in disability support or related field preferred Experience working with individuals with disabilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compassionate and patient demeanour Ability to handle challenging behaviours and situations Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy Selection criteria Experience with complex behaviours Manual Handling experience, essential Certificate 3 Individual Supports/Disability Support and/or experience in disability or allied health, essential Mental Health training highly desired, but not essential Current First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate NDIS Workers Screening Certificate The 3 NDIS Orientation Certificates A current valid NSW driver's licence together with comprehensive car insurance Thorough understanding of NDIS Practice Standards 100 points of identification Covid 19 Certificate showing at least 2 vaccinations Benefits of the role Novated Leasing / Salary Sacrificing for those PPT Team bonding events/training days throughout the year Training and skill development opportunities Two mental health days a year for those PPT More exciting things to come How to Apply Email infoaays.com.au, include a cover letter , resume and evidence of selection criteria as part of your application or hit apply button now.
