The Gig An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Project Engineer to join the team on a major infrastructure project in the Sydney CBD. You’ll oversee the restoration and upgrade of Hyde Park, a heritage-listed site, managing construction activities such as infrastructure upgrades while ensuring compliance with environmental and heritage preservation standards. Working with a dedicated team, you’ll contribute to this environmentally sensitive project, balancing modern development with the protection of Hyde Park’s historical significance. Based in the CBD, and reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll ply your trade, and be trusted with: Managing site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, and to specification. Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain smooth project delivery. Preparing and reviewing construction plans, methodologies, and quality assurance documentation. Monitoring project progress, budgets, and compliance with contract requirements and regulations. Conducting site inspections to maintain high safety, quality, and environmental standards. Identifying and resolving technical issues to prevent delays and improve efficiency. Assisting in procurement, including materials, equipment, and subcontractor coordination. Preparing reports and updates for senior management, clients, and project teams. Ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations. Driving continuous improvement by implementing best practices and identifying efficiencies. What’s In Your Toolbox? Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. 3 years’ experience in civil project engineering, especially in heritage or infrastructure. Strong knowledge of environmental and heritage preservation standards. Proven ability to manage project schedules, resources, and deadlines. Proficient in project management software and MS Office, with excellent communication skills. You bring strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills to the table, making you well-equipped for a challenging project.
