Our host company offers meaningful work experience, strong supervision, supportive work environment, and is planning to offer permanent employment for the suitable candidate. ABOUT YOU: You must: be studying a relevant degree qualification or a recent graduate/skilled migrant. have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. have the necessary technical and soft skills to perform the job. be committed to a career in your field of study. be able to work at least 3 days per week. You must: Understand exposure to the various processes of manufacturing; • CNC machining : application, limitations, method of programming, machining from a 3D model. • Fabrication : various welding methods, minimisation of heat distortion, preparation for welding. Gaining the understanding of these manufacturing process will aid the student ability to design for manufacture. The students will then perform; • The creation of 3D models to produce 2D drawings using Solidworks. • F abrication drawings : understanding the various welding symbols, understand of fabrication tolerances, requirement of stress relieving. • Machining drawings : the application of machining and geometrical tolerances symbols. LEARNING OUTCOMES: You could be provided work experience in the following areas: designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability; developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs; managing projects using engineering principles and techniques; planning and designing new production processes; producing details of specifications and outline designs; recommending modifications following prototype test results; using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modelling and computer-aided design; considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints; working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector; monitoring and commissioning plant and systems.
