The Opportunity The successful candidate will join the Process Engineering team at Cochlear Brisbane Operations in Newstead. As part of a larger cohort of Engineering talent, the Student Engineer will work collaboratively with a diverse group of people to support Quality, Yield & Efficiency initiatives. These initiatives will prompt changes to manufacturing processes for new and existing products, applying appropriate risk mitigations to deliver stable and reliable manufacturing processes. In this role the successful candidate will utilise their problem-solving skills to provide solutions to real-world Engineering problems to help our recipients Hear now. And always. PLEASE NOTE a Cover Letter should be provided upon application. Accountabilities Include: Deliver day-to-day tasks within established procedures and processes. Solve problems by using engineering tools and support from peers. Provides solutions to identified manufacturing issues within the Quality, Yield & Efficiency strategic initiative. Follow relevant quality procedures to deliver products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement. Able to adapt to change and implement change to working processes. Develop trusted relationships with internal stakeholder and peers. Able to deliver own output within Cochlear’s defined processes and procedures. You Bring: To add value to Cochlear in this role, you will be required to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and attributes. Must Haves: Minimum Year 3 studies Hold or be in the process of attaining Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. Preferably Mechanical / Electrical / Biomedical / Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum Distinction grade average Proven competencies in problem solving and analysing data. Great interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Ideal: Enthusiasm for working in a manufacturing role within a highly regulated industry.
