About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disabilities in Orange. We have opportunities across both of our support programs. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. Ability to work active overnights is REQUIRED. Our Lifestyle and Community Program allows you to work shifts primarily between 9am to 4pm Monday to Sunday, on occasion these may span until 9pm . Provide support to clients one-to-one or in some instances in small group settings with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required. Key Responsibilities Ability to work independently supporting clients with daily personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting Provide mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients Ability to follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keeping Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families and your team Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant Skills & Experience An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
