Description The Role: The School Receptionist is the front face of the Junior School and has a direct responsibility in promoting and maintaining excellent relations with the Junior School and Early Learning Centre community. Reporting to the Operations Manager - Junior School, the School Receptionist is a key member of the Junior School administration team and assists in maintaining a range of records and databases. This role is permanent, part-time (0.5FTE) and primarily based at our Donvale campus. The usual workdays will be Monday, Wednesday (half-day) and Thursday. There is also an opportunity to work on Fridays at the Junior School Kew Campus. The successful candidate will be warm and welcoming with can-do team attitude. This role is integral to the smooth operations of the Donvale campus. Key duties as School Receptionist are: Greet and welcome visitors entering the Campus, assisting with queries and directing appropriately Provide general office and administrative support as a member of the Junior School Administration team Oversee the general inbox and respond to queries accordingly Maintain the Reception area to ensure it is a neat and tidy, professional space Maintain accurate daily attendance records for student attendance Receive, sort and distribute mail, and deliveries to the Campus Undertake other administrative and general duties as requested by the Operations Manager – Junior School or Head of the Junior School The Person: To be successful in this position, you will have: Exemplary telephone manner Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Previous experience with Synergetic (internal database) is highly regarded Strong interpersonal skills across various stakeholders Proven oral and written communication skills Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workload and forward plan Excellent problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and accuracy Flexibility, intelligence and energy A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
