We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager for an iconic project located in Darwin City. The salary range is between $170,000 and $230,000 per year. ABOUT THE PROJECT DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin’s cultural heritage and meet its growing needs. Key project highlights include: Large-Scale, High-Value Commercial Project The $150-million Civic Centre project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in contract administration and procurement, managing complex budgets, including $77 million in council contributions and balance provided by DCOH. Diverse and Multifaceted Scope The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements like carparking and building infrastructure. This complexity provides valuable exposure to coordinating contracts across multiple disciplines and stakeholders. Commitment to Long-Term Community Impact With construction expected to create over 500 jobs and designs honouring Galamarrma, the Tree of Knowledge, this project aligns with principles of sustainable development and cultural respect. WHO YOU ARE You are a proven leader with extensive experience managing large-scale, complex projects. Your background spans diverse aspects of commercial projects. Proven experience in managing large-scale building and construction projects, with value of $100M. Key attributes you will demonstrate: A strong background in project management, construction processes, and building regulations. A relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). A strong track record of managing internal and external stakeholders effectively and leading and motivating a diverse team Excellent leadership and communication skills High level of computer literacy and proven knowledge of construction software. A demonstrated commitment to safety and quality. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Construction Manager, you will: Lead and manage all aspects of the construction project for a high-value commercial project Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets Lead and manage a team of diverse project team members, including subcontractors Monitor project progress, resolve issues and provide regular updates to senior management Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, architects and other stakeholders Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards Monitor expenses and manage project finances to prevent cost overruns.
