Overseer – Engineering Powder Coating 5DCessnock Correctional Centre Location – Cessnock Correctional Centre, Cessnock NSW Employment type – Ongoing, Full Time Salary - $91,705 pa Incidental Allowance Leave Loading Superannuation Your role Corrective Services Industries is currently seeking a trade qualified candidate for the Engineering Overseer role at Cessnock Correctional Centre. You must have experience across any of the following trades: Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant trade qualifications, Industrial painting and/or spray painting. What you’ll do As the ideal Overseer for this role, you will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethics and integrity in line with CSI core values to train and supervise inmates as well as Quality control / inspection responsibilities to ensure compliance. You are also required to have sound computer knowledge, show strong resilience and have robust time management skills. As part of this role, the duties include however are not limited to: • Supervise and train inmates to develop their work skills in order to enhance their post-release employment opportunities, thereby reducing their risk of re-offending. • Contribute to the business unit operations through the delivery of work related inmate training • Provide detailed input to case management reporting through the Work Readiness Program. • Create and maintain a safe working environment for staff, contractors, inmates and visitors to comply with Work Health & Safety legislation. The successful candidate will be paid to undertake Primary Training for Certificate III in Correctional Practice. What we’re looking for As a standout candidate you will have: • 3 years proven trade experience • Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description. • Current NSW Driver Licence • Willingness to work across varying trades and ability to multitask to achieve operational goals • Must be willing to undertake relevant training as required (paid by CSI) within set timeframe Essential Requirements • Certificate III or higher in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant trade qualifications, Industrial painting and/or spray painting. • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes • Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required • General understanding of capabilities around the use of computers and electronic platforms to access relevant departmental programmes and applications Download the role description If you are viewing this ad in Seek and wish to apply via their portal, you will be required to either set up a profile or login via your existing Seek account.
