The position reports to the Senior Security Officer and supports the department meet its personnel and physical security obligations as defined in the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). The role's focus is on Personnel & Physical security and includes ensuring prospective staff satisfy pre-employment screening requirements, ongoing staff and contactors remain suitable to access Australian Government resources and all departmental offices obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance (Baseline as a minimum). The key duties of the position include The Security Administration Support Officer's duties will include but are not limited to: Work within a team responsible for the operational management of the department's personnel security arrangements, including pre-employment screening, security clearance processes through document verification and police records checks, ongoing suitability requirements and separating personnel requirements. Utilise the AGSVA myClearance Portal to lodge and manage security clearance activities. When necessary, escalating issues to the AGSVA Customer Relations Support Team. Using various management tools to ensure all documents and decisions are fully recorded. Monitoring the Protective Security mailbox and hotline resolving issues and providing security clearance advice to staff and contractors. Maintain security related assets and the relevant registers for, but not limited to, security containers, shredders, and satchels.
