Your new role As a Senior ICT Engineer, you will be responsible for specifying, designing, and implementing advanced network and ICT solutions, including servers, desktop systems, communications, and application software. You will establish project-specific networks, perform necessary maintenance, and may supervise a small engineering team. Your role will involve conducting major engineering assignments, applying engineering principles, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also assist in project planning, design, implementation, and support of network and computing infrastructure. What you'll need to succeed To excel in this role, you will need a strong background in ICT engineering, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers. You should be able to interpret complex technical information, solve problems efficiently, and lead a small team when required. Your ability to provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously will be key to your success.To be considered for this role, you will have: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or at least five years of practical experience in a similar environment. Between 7-12 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and maintain complex Windows and/or Unix networks, including firewalls, routing, and switching. Extensive knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies, virtualisation environments, and cybersecurity. Ability to negotiate hardware/software acquisition, service, and technical support contracts with vendors. Defence Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Willingness to travel interstate/intrastate as required.
