My client is building an in-house software engineering team to build and operate its digital platforms. Key to the success of this group is the ability to affect quality change at pace, fit-for-purpose environments and tooling that enables day-to-day operating of the platform. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer role will be key to each of these outcomes through the building and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and tooling as well as the management of environments and associated operational capabilities. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer role will also be key in shaping the broader Technology function through the establishment of ways-of-working and the mentoring of more junior team members. About the Role: Experience in designing, building and managing performant, secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling; Background in establishing and maintaining cloud-based environments particularly within the Azure context. AWS experience is highly desirable as well; In depth experience implementing a configuration management system (e.g., Ansible) and a containerisation capability (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker); 10 years Software development experience; Exceptional scripting skills (PowerShell and Bash); Experience with Azure / AWS Well-Architected Frameworks; Experience in both Linux and Windows environments; Experience delivering technology change within a product organisation; and Experience supporting a security program including data governance, AppSec, cloud and WAF considerations of benefit. To be successful in this position you will have the following key skills and experience: CI/CD Pipelines and Tooling Pipelines are in place to facilitate automated build, test and deploy of all components of the Production stack; Various deployment strategies including Blue-Green, Canary, Feature Toggle are supported for all components of the Production Stack; Tooling is incorporated into pipelines to vet code quality, security, performance and functional behaviour of committed change; The CI/CD capability is secured and isolated; and Reporting and dashboards are in place to keep teams and stakeholders apprised of end-to-end health and status of the delivery pipeline. Environments Environment provisioning is fully automated through Infrastructure as Code; and Reporting and dashboards are in place to keep teams and stakeholders apprised of health and status of all environments. Operational Tooling Comprehensive monitoring and alerting are applied throughout the entire Production stack and across agreed pre-Production components; Agreed operational tooling is maintained to enable application and cloud performance management, log aggregation and analysis, incident response, data visualisation and cloud cost analytics; and Reporting and dashboards are in place to keep teams and stakeholders apprised of health and status of Production systems. Security Production and pre-Production environments are secured; and Reporting and dashboards are in place to keep teams and stakeholders apprised of the security health of the broader ecosystem. Standards and Practices Technical standards and practices associated with CI/CD pipeline and cloud technologies are clearly articulated and well socialised throughout the broader Technology function.
