The key duties of the position include The Role The Office of Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters (COS NHQ) is seeking a motivated, talented and skilled APS 5 Administration Officer. In this role you will be an integral part of the COS NHQ Business Team which provides a broad range of administrative, business and financial functions to support multiple Directorates, Branches and areas within Navy Headquarters. The APS 5 Administration Officer will demonstrate experience in some or all areas relating to: Providing support to ensure compliance and sound governance of business, financial and administration functions. Undertaking administrative processes, policy guidance and provision of advice associated with Travel & the Card Management System (CMS). Support Group Operating Budget financial management, including financial systems functions. Seeking to innovate and recommend business process improvements. Perform Unit Security Officer functions. Experience with Simple Procurement activities and the ability to provide advice, policy guidance and support to ensure compliance. Interpret policy & process to support procurements & business activities with a keen focus on Gifts, Benefits, Hospitality and Sponsorship. Knowledge and experience in records management. The ability to convert data and information into valuable reports and/or advice. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Foster good relationships across Navy, other services, groups and Government Agencies. About our Team This position is embedded in the Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters (COS NHQ) Business Team and provides combined support to The Office of the Chief of Navy (OCN) and COS NHQ. You will be part of a supportive team, working in a dynamic environment, to support Navy staff to deliver capability and achieve governance. You will be part of the Team who are striving to create business improvement, increase governance & assurance functions, and find innovative ways to update administrative practices to better meet the business needs supporting Navy.
