Senior Graphic Designer — Brunswick, Moreland Area

We are on the hunt for a talented and passionate Senior Graphic Designer to join the team at Sheet Society. This role plays a pivotal role in driving how the Sheet Society brand shows up in the market, impacting the brand’s success through the creation of high-performing, channel-specific content that is both on-brand and customer-centric. Working closely with the Head of Creative, you’ll lead a team of designers to develop creative concepts and execute them across all customer touchpoints - digital and retail - along with internal design requirements, too. Acting as the custodian of the Sheet Society Brand Guidelines, the Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for driving brand consistency, as well as knowing when to bend the design rules for the best commercial and customer outcomes. Being a brand that started as a pureplay Ecommerce business, a strong understanding of digital design, and highly visual channels like Meta, is crucial, however with our upcoming retail expansion, your design scope will also include retail design including window decals, print and packaging. Leading a small, but passionate, design team you will also be responsible for managing design workflow across the team, and for motivating and developing a highly-engaged, high-performing team. About the team: This role reports to the Head of Creative, and is part of the broader Marketing team.The Senior Graphic Designer manages a team of graphic designers. About the role: Concept Development Collaborate with the Head of Creative, and broader Creative Team, to concept and develop design solutions for channel requirements with market-leading and on-brand executions. Create, champion and comply with a consistent brand representation, ensuring that every touchpoint is distinctly Sheet Society. Work collaboratively with all channel leads (Ecomm, Performance, Social, Email/CRM/Product/Internal Comms) to develop and inspire through engaging design that delivers compelling and commercial brand experiences. With a passion for good design you will bring a creative mindset to ensure that every idea is new and fresh (and ultimately better than the last), with the goal of keeping the Sheet Society brand ahead of the curve. Design Management and Production Responsible for managing the design workflow (from concepting to finished art) and design team, ensuring all design work is produced to a high standard, is on-brand, delivered on time, whilst managing stakeholder expectations along the way. Responsible for the delivery of all design work including a variety of mediums and formats including: digital design, motion editing and animation; print collateral like out of home posters and retail assets, and consumer packaging; and internal documents and presentations. Own the Sheet Society Brand Guidelines, ensuring the design rules are adhered to at all times, and evolving and updating the Brand Guideline, as needed, to ensure they are always up to date and current reflection of our brand standards - this includes ownership of design elements such as logos, patterns, icon, lockups and their application. Commerciality As a retail business we are here to both inspire our customers, but also sell our products, so approaching design with both creativity and commerciality is key - taking creative ideas and adapting them to suit commercial needs, or tailor to channel requirements. Strong understanding of performance metrics, and using data to inform and adapt our creative outputs for growth. About you: You have 5 years experience as a Graphic Designer You are experienced in managing and mentoring junior graphic designers You have proven ability to manage design workflow, and distribute throughout team members effectively to ensure a high-performing and happy team You thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment You have excellent communication, collaboration and prioritisation skills You have a keen eye for aesthetics and all the finer details including finished art You are experienced in developing, maintaining brand guidelines and championing consistent use of them across all touchpoints You know how to foster innovative thinking and new approaches, and know when to break design rules for the right reasons Expert in Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premier Pro) Experience working with Figma for designs Experience with a work management system, such as ASANA A relevant tertiary design qualification is preferred Ability to develop illustrations, logos and other designs is highly desirable Video editing capabilities in Premier Pro or AfterEffects is highly desirable Why you'll love it here: At Sheet Society, it’s more than a workplace, it’s a community.
