The team plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the assets that ensure the smooth functioning of community services and facilities. About the Role The Project Manager - (Construction) supports the Senior Coordinator in the effective and efficient maintenance of civil assets within the Agency. This role involves overseeing civil infrastructure projects, including coordinating staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to work health and safety legislation, and maintaining high service standards. As part of a team focused on delivering quality outcomes, you will play a key role in managing maintenance activities and supporting the development of policies that ensure sustainability and safety in civil asset management. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Asset Management: Support the civil asset maintenance program, ensuring all assets are maintained in line with established standards and schedules. Team Coordination: Supervise day labor staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards. Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act, and implement risk management strategies. Environmental & Policy Standards: Assist in the development and implementation of environmental standards and best practices in service delivery. Customer Service: Provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently. Administrative Support: Develop and maintain reports, budgets, and schedules for civil asset management activities. Volunteer Coordination: If applicable, oversee and coordinate volunteers within the team and ensure their safety and compliance with council standards. Project Management: Manage multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Contract Management: Oversee contracts and contractors, ensuring all work is completed to the required standards and within contractual obligations. Procurement: Write scopes of work, understand the RFQ process, and manage vendor panel processes to ensure effective procurement. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as outlined in the Position Description for Engineer Civil Asset Maintenance. Volunteer Coordination: If the role includes coordinating volunteer programs, ensure effective supervision of volunteers on-site (not including work experience placements). Ensure that volunteer coordination aligns with the Agency's volunteer policies and standards. About You Qualifications: Relevant 4-year degree in civil engineering or related field. Experience: At least 4 years of relevant work experience in civil infrastructure maintenance and management. Leadership: Experience in supervising staff and contractors in the construction or maintenance sectors. Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil infrastructure, local government legislation, and WHS regulations. Desirable: Local government experience in construction/maintenance roles is preferred. Other Requirements: Hold a valid Class "C" driver's license.
