DIRECTORATE: Business, Growth & Community CLASSIFICATION: Grade C SALARY: $39.61 to $45.94 per hour 11.5% employer contribution to superannuation (includes 25% loading in lieu of all leave entitlements) REPORTING TO: Head Chef EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Casual THE POSITION: To deliver catering service to a diverse range of clients/ visitors of the Albury Entertainment Centre and off-site venues, to maintain and continuously improve the efficiency and profitability of the catering operations whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To ensure the preparation, presentation and service of food is carried out promptly to a high standard in line with the venue expectations. The ability to work unsupervised to ensure the preparation and service is delivered in a professional manor To maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in accordance with statutory requirements. To maintain and continuously improve food presentation, service and standards. To keep all wastage to a minimum and to observe sound environmental practices. Foster close relationships with clients and stakeholders. To work in collaboration with the Head Chef to ensure effective and efficient business outcomes. Provide a high level of customer service to all clients and stakeholders. To work within the Event Schedule Manifest and deliver services of the clients requested time frame and deliverables Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, Food Safety Act relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. This position involves working in an indoor and outdoor environment where a varying range of temperatures, weather conditions and walking surfaces may be experienced. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day - depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. The use of relevant work method statements and appropriate WHS standards are an integral part of the role. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. This position is located at Albury Entertainment Centre with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Trade qualifications - minimum Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Advanced Food Handlers Certificate Current First Aid Certificate Occupational Health and Safety training Associate Diploma of Business, Hospitality and Catering or experience, education and training within the hospitality industry EXPERIENCE Experience in a high pressure catering environment, preferably in a commercial or industrial environment Experience in a supervisory or management role Relevant experience in the entertainment and hospitality industry Relevant experience in events and large scale functions SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Expert working knowledge of the Hospitality industry Solid working knowledge of event catering and special events Solid knowledge of stock management Solid knowledge of profit and loss management Sound understanding of industry code of practice Customer service and relationship development/maintenance
