About the role Exciting opportunity to join Mater Health team as a casual Social Worker based at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. Join a dynamic team delivering evidence-based social work services in the Acute and Rehabilitation setting. Utilise your high-level problem-solving skills to ensure optimal psychosocial outcomes for patients, families, and carers. Work autonomously with minimal clinical supervision. Salary range: $41.87 – $56.06per hour plus 25% casual loading, weekend penalty rates, 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits What you’ll be doing Deliver highly skilled Social Work clinical services in accordance with professional practice standards. Your role will involve: Assessing diverse psychosocial needs of patients, families, and caregivers to identify clinical risks Providing diverse interventions to maximise health and psychosocial outcomes Advocating for equity in healthcare access and addressing client needs Working autonomously with minimal clinical supervision Applying independent professional judgment to design, implement, and evaluate interventions Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for optimal health outcomes Contributing to the development of clinical practices and protocols Advocating for Social Work as a clinical specialty and providing advice to senior managers Collaborating with government and non-government service providers for improved community health outcomes Monitoring and reporting on clinical practices and participating in research and quality improvement activities About you We are seeking candidates who possess the following: Proven competence in providing Social Work services, particularly in case coordination, within a rehabilitation and acute hospital environment A degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Tertiary qualifications for Social Work from overseas institutions need official notification from AASW that the qualification has been assessed as eligible. Accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW). Current membership and CPE accreditation with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW ). Demonstrated knowledge of local services and experience in referral for services, such as Disability services, My Aged Care, and NDIS Effective communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues, contributing to the multidisciplinary team Ability to independently manage caseload responsibilities, measure outcomes and contribute to continuous quality improvement Understanding and promotion of our mission, philosophy, and values in Social Work service provision Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education Why join us?
