The Company people2people are recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to work for a State Government Department. This is an initial 2 month assignment, based in the CBD, offering an immediate start for the right candidate. Please note, this is not a payroll processing position, the purpose of the role is to support the Payroll Team by creating and maintaining comprehensive process documentation that aligns with audit and compliance requirements. The Role The successful candidate will contribute to the development of high-quality working documents, process manuals, and training materials that enhance the team's operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include accurately capturing data, drafting, refining, and finalising documentation to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with organisational standards. By streamlining processes and ensuring thorough documentation, this role plays a vital part in enabling the Payroll Team to meet its compliance obligations and improve overall workflow management. The ideal candidate will have Previous experience working as a payroll officer Sound communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members, managers and external stakeholders Sound numeracy and analysis skills to demonstrate ability to understand; interpret and synthesise basic data and information Experience in organising work priorities to meet deadlines with a capacity to identify areas of improvement within the work area Confident using both word and excel What's in it for you?
