$91,702 - $104,753 10% BDCP up to 15.4% Superannuation Canberra - ACT, Sydney CBD - NSW The Role The Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) Branch is seeking professional, motivated and APS6 Engineering Professionals to support Projects to deliver cutting edge capabilities. You will be part of a dynamic MIWS project/program teams. You will be part of the core engineering team overseeing the Design, Development, Installation and Testing of the Mission System, and may include the conduct or observation of testing activities either in manufacturing plants, at the waterfront or out at sea. This role may also require the candidate evaluate the results and record outcomes in the requisite engineering tools. Ideally you will have a maritime background, with experience across one or more of the following; uncrewed systems, acoustics, electrical, combat systems, software and systems engineering. Experience in requirements engineering, test and evaluation, or in system design reviews are also desirable. Familiarity with ASDEFCON documentation, CASG BMS, the CLC and IEEE 15288 are highly desirable. As an APS 6 Engineer, you will report directly to an EL 1 Engineering Manager. Some of your key duties may include: Review, analysis and interpretation; undertaking assessments, technical investigations, design and development, verification and validation and testing in support of mandated system review activities across the Capability Life Cycle. Ensure operational, cyber and security, safety, and environmental aspects of the mission system are incorporated into the system design. Ensure establishment of capability baselines and conducting assurance activities for a wide range of maritime capabilities. Preparation of technical plans and technical risk assessments, using tools such as TRMS. Largely, you will work to deliver complex engineering Projects through planning, organisation control and integration. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
