ABOUT THE ROLE The Mt Magnet operations team are seeking an Underground Mine Engineer , to ensure short term ( The role will have a primary focus on stope design, drill and blast, development and short-term scheduling, but you will be involved with all day-to-day operations and mine growth projects. The Galaxy underground mine is run by a small team of high-performance professionals, where being adaptable and motivated is essential. This is a permanent opportunity working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, this role will: Create drill and blast designs that will satisfy the required production rate. Spend time in in the field with mining operators to ensure designs are accurate. Ensure all designs minimise dilution and consider geotechnical and geological factors for safe, productive, and stable stopes. Track and maintain production drill stocks and drill designs as far ahead of production as is practicable. Prioritise and accurately deliver all reports, plans, designs and schedules by the required deadlines. Complete safety and ventilation monitoring as required. Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering. Relevant experience in the mining industry. Experience in all aspects of mine design (lateral/vertical development and production). Knowledge of mining software for the purposes of drill and blast design and basic level design. Deswik experience is preferred. Technical knowledge and practical application of relevant mining legislation. A West Australian C class driver’s license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
