More About the Role at RMIT University As the Associate Dean of Industrial Design, you will provide strategic leadership to one of RMIT's most esteemed design disciplines. You will drive the development and growth of the Industrial Design program, fostering innovative teaching, research, and community engagement. The role will enable you to influence curriculum design, research outputs, and industry collaboration, ensuring that RMIT continues to produce cutting-edge professionals and researchers in this ever-evolving field. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: - Strong leadership skills and experience in initiating, leading and managing academic teams and projects in a collegiate environment to deliver strategic objectives. - Demonstrated understanding of financial management, academic management and good governance in a University context. - Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and to act tactically based on organisational priorities and objectives. _Please view position description for further selection criteria _ Associate Dean, Research & Innovation (R&I) Role details: 3-year Fixed Term appointment with leadership allowance and underlying continuing Level D/E position in either Digital Design or Communication Design 17% Superannuation The Associate Dean, Research & Innovation (R&I), will be responsible for driving the research agenda within the School of Design. This senior leadership role involves shaping research culture, supporting faculty researchers, and fostering an environment that encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration, impactful research, and industry partnerships. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: - Strong leadership skills and experience in initiating, leading and managing academic teams and projects in a collegiate environment to deliver strategic objectives. - Demonstrated understanding of University systems in regard to budget management, quality maintenance and good governance. - Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and to act tactically based on organisational priorities and objectives. - Ability to lead and contribute to cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral teams.
