The Role: In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance across multiple commercial construction sites. You will help lead efforts to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, assess risks, and develop strategies to minimize accidents and incidents. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites. Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards. Develop and implement safety management plans and procedures. Provide ongoing safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to workers. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and report findings to management. Assist with the development of risk assessments and safe work method statements (SWMS). Provide guidance on health and safety issues, helping management implement corrective actions. Maintain WHS documentation, records, and reporting systems. Essential Requirements: Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or relevant qualification. Previous experience as a WHS Officer in the construction industry (minimum 2-3 years). Strong knowledge of current WHS legislation and best practice standards. Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with workers and management at all levels. High attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Current White Card (or ability to obtain). Ability to travel between multiple construction sites as required. Desirable Experience: Experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects. First Aid or CPR certification.
