About the role In this role, you will provide expert technical sub transmission and distribution overhead and underground engineering design leadership to ensure the successful delivery of design service projects. You will enhance the team’s performance by identifying and developing efficiencies in tools and processes, continually improving standards and designs to maximise value for both our customers and shareholders. Additionally, you will offer key thought leadership by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement new technologies, equipment, best practices, and safety-focused design expertise. Your responsibilities will also include providing support across multiple projects, with a strong emphasis on developing and mentoring colleagues. Key Accountabilities Drive improvements in safety performance and model the organisation’s commitment to WHS, including the incorporation of safety in design for all design deliverables. Lead by example. Provide staff development, mentoring, priority planning, contributing to the development of the overall vision and direction of the organisation. Build an environment that motivates individuals, gives all team members a voice, promotes effectiveness and healthy conflict. Provide their respective Design Section technical expertise and support concurrently, across the vast range of design deliverables. Conduct investigations and feasibility studies including modelling, calculations and derivations where required. Peer review and certify design service deliverables to defined scopes; Statutory Regulations; the organisation's policies and procedures. Implement governance over the delivery of design services to ensure that the works are undertaken within the relevant constraints. Identify barriers to the effective delivery of design services deliverables and propose potential solutions which are in line with the overall vision and direction of the organisation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree – Electrical/Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering Licences/Tickets C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM) Green Card Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course Experience Specialised Professional: with 5 years experience in a similar/professional role within the Construction, Consulting, Energy / Electrical, Professional Services or Utilities industry. Experience in PLS-CADD/Pole Experience in Sub transmission overhead and underground design. Desirable Experience in Distribution overhead and underground design. Experience in PLS-Tower.
