Job Description We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the design, construction, and delivery of substation projects . As an Engineering Manager , you will be pivotal in delivering innovative, high-voltage substation projects (up to 500kV) for this nationally significant development in NSW. Key Responsibilities: Led and managed multidisciplinary teams of engineers and designers in the design and execution of substation projects, including electrical, mechanical, and civil systems for high-voltage transmission and distribution infrastructure. Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of substation projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, safety standards, environmental considerations, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of substation projects. Develop design strategies, providing innovative solutions to technical challenges while ensuring high-quality, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure for substations. Manage project budgets, resources, schedules, and risks, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and on time. Provide technical leadership by reviewing design documentation, conducting technical assessments, and maintaining high standards for quality control. Mentor and support the professional development of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Stay up to date with advancements in substation technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve processes and project outcomes. Required Skills and Competencies Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering substation and high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of Australian standards and regulatory requirements for substations and high-voltage transmission systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting, planning, scheduling, and risk management. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility to obtain chartered status is highly desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills, with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and stakeholder coordination.
