The Threatened Species Operations team is excited to offer a permanent opportunity to join our team as an Administration Officer. The unit leads a state-wide, crosstenure program to protect, conserve, and recover Queensland's threatened species. We work on projects ranging from marine turtle research to northern hairy-nosed wombat monitoring, we support the listing and recovery planning for threatened species in Queensland, and we work closely with a variety of stakeholders to improve outcomes for threatened species. This role provides essential support to the unit. Key duties include managing a shared inbox and team correspondence, organising travel, maintaining databases, financial management and reporting, managing assets, and responding to the day-to-day queries from the team. You will also play a critical role in supporting our leadership team business planning and day to day operations. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, solutions-focused, able to follow direction and procedure, willing to learn and assist others, and able to meet deadlines. Effective communication will be key to engaging across the unit, as will attention to detail and the ability to work in a team or autonomously. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, Excel, SAP, Financial Reporter or other accounting and reporting systems will be highly valuable.
